Groomsport Harbour & Cockle Row Cottages

A tiny Viking-origin harbour with two restored 1910s fishermen's cottages recreating old Cockle Row.

Worth the wander

Groomsport has a sheltered natural harbour reputed to be of Viking origin, with settlement traced back to the 9th or 10th century. Two restored fishermen's cottages beside the harbour, known as Cockle Row Cottages, show what the row looked like around 1910.
