The Gobbins Cliff Path

An Edwardian engineering marvel bolted straight onto a cliff face, with bridges and a tunnel carrying walkers over crashing waves.

Worth the wander

The Gobbins is a dramatic cliff-edge walkway on the Islandmagee peninsula, built in 1902 by railway engineer Berkeley Deane Wise and rebuilt in 2011-2015 with new bridges, a tubular bridge and a tunnel partly below the waterline. Access is by guided tour only, booked in advance.
